Brief Introduction

        Physical Education College, founded in 1939,is located at the southern campus of Hunan Normal University, which is an academic institution of higher education with a full range of disciplines and has become a national “211 Project” university--one of the country's 100 key universities in the 21st century that enjoy priority in obtaining national funds. In the east, the college adjoins the Xiang River, which is one of the largest tributaries of Yangtze River; and it is close to Yuelu Mountain in the west, which has beautiful sceneries.

         Our college is the cradle of nursing physical education talents. It consists of three departments and four specialties: departments of Physical Education, Athletics Training, and Sports Fitness and Social Sports; specialties of Physical Education, Athletics Training, Social Sports and Science of the Human Body in Sports. One second-class Ph.D program is Humanistic Sociology of Physical Culture Studies, and one first-class master program is Physical Education which covers four specialties—Ethical and Traditional Physical Education, Science of Human Body in Sports, Physical Education and Training, and Ethical and Traditional Physical Education.

        The college has a team of experts and scholars who are famous at home and abroad and now students at all levels are studying on campus. The college highly values the improvement of students’ professional techniques, skills and qualities. We have made great achievements in different kinds of matches and competitions in our country and the world.
